Yusuf, a former Managing Director of the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC), posted a gross score of 80 and a net 67 off a handicap of 16.

Speaking after his victory, he credited focus and determination for the win, noting that although he initially registered under the veterans’ category, he was moved to the regular draw, a change he embraced and converted into success.

The keenly contested tournament produced several other winners across categories.

In the men’s handicap 21-28 division, D. Dilli clinched the net title while S. S. Jiya won the gross.

The week-long tournament, which coincided with Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary, not only celebrated golfing excellence but also honoured serving and retired Nigerian Army officers, reinforcing the values of unity, patriotism, and sportsmanship.
