The Alternative Bank has taken its Walk4ZeroPlastic campaign beyond Lagos, launching the initiative in Abuja on Saturday and set to replicate it in Kano on October 4, 2025.
The programme features symbolic walks and clean-up activities in major markets to raise awareness about plastic pollution.
Executive Director (North), Garba Mohammed, said the campaign aims to mobilise Nigerians against the menace: “Plastic pollution is choking our cities, but together, we can turn the tide.”
The initiative, which previously drew over 300 volunteers in Lagos, is supported by government agencies, NGOs, and private sector partners.
AltBank described the drive as a call for collective responsibility in tackling plastic waste and promoting sustainable environmental practices.
