The African Democratic Congress (ADC), has issued a warning to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Secretary to the Government of the Federation Babachir Lawal, and other top politicians to register at their wards before year’s end or risk losing party membership.

Adamawa State ADC Chairman, Shehu Yohanna, disclosed in Yola that the party had launched a new membership register, stressing that only card-carrying members would be recognized.

He directed Atiku to register in Jada Local Government and Babachir in Hong Local Government.

“You cannot take decisions for a party you are not constitutionally a member of,” Yohanna declared.

The ultimatum follows ADC’s earlier directive that all coalition members must resign from their former parties and register fully with the ADC, a stance dismissed by the APC and PDP.

Atiku’s planned registration in Jada last August was suspended indefinitely, fueling speculation about his presidential ambitions under the ADC amid the rising influence of Peter Obi’s movement in the party.

Yohanna insisted that the ADC is united and strong enough to challenge APC and PDP in 2027, boasting of credible governorship aspirants and dismissing claims of a leadership crisis in Adamawa.
