The Nigeria Police Force has launched a nationwide manhunt after one of its official vehicles went missing from the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

Security sources confirmed that the vehicle disappeared within the premises of the police headquarters, prompting urgent directives for its recovery.

“Orders have been given to all internal policing units to trace and retrieve the missing car,” a source disclosed, describing the case as a top-priority security concern.

Details of the disappearance remain unclear, as no eyewitnesses have come forward to confirm how or when the vehicle left the premises.

It is also uncertain whether the incident involved forced entry, tampering with security systems, or possible internal collusion.

Police formations nationwide have been placed on alert as investigations intensify. A senior officer, who spoke off the record, described the situation as troubling.

“It is embarrassing that such could happen at the very heart of police operations,” he admitted.

Efforts to obtain an official response from Force spokespersons have so far been unsuccessful, as no formal statement has been issued.

The incident has drawn public attention, raising fresh concerns about accountability, surveillance, and the integrity of internal security protocols at Nigeria’s top policing hub.
