Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Police Command have arrested seven suspected “one-chance” criminals in connection with the murder of Miss Oluchi Opara Glory, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), member who had just completed her service in Abuja.

The arrests followed a petition filed on July 21, 2025, by Onyegbula Akujuobi & Co., addressed to the Inspector General of Police and endorsed to the FCT Commissioner of Police.

Acting on the petition, the Scorpion Squad, led by ACP Victor O. Godfrey, launched an intelligence-driven operation.

According to police sources, the suspects were picked up between August 8 and September 25, 2025, through digital tracking and reconstructive intelligence.

Those in custody include 29-year-old Solomon Obada from Ado Local Government Area of Benue State, who resides in Mararaba, Nasarawa; 29-year-old Olemba Ajonwe from Otukpo, Benue, also resident in Aso, Mararaba; and 40-year-old Aba Godwin from Ogwarigbo, Benue, who lives in Mararaba and was only released from prison two months ago over a similar case.

Others arrested are 18-year-old Kadijat Yakubu from Sokoto State, resident in Badarawa, Kaduna; 29-year-old Sunday Ejih Okpeh from Otukpo, Benue; 25-year-old Joseph Oche Samuel from Benue; and 25-year-old Michael Sunday Eneh from Cross River, all based in Aso, Mararaba.

Investigations revealed that the victim’s mobile phone was traced to Kaduna, where it was recovered from Yakubu.

During interrogation, Obada and Ajonwe reportedly confessed that the victim was stabbed during a struggle inside their operational vehicle, a blue Golf car, before being abandoned while bleeding in Wuse II, Abuja.

Police said efforts are ongoing to arrest another suspect still at large. Items recovered so far include the victim’s phone and the vehicle used in the crime.

The FCT Police Command assured that thorough investigations are underway and pledged that justice will be served.
