The Senate on Tuesday reopened the office of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP, Kogi Central), signaling her likely return to full legislative duties after a six-month suspension.
Personnel from the Sergeant-at-Arms, assisted by security operatives, unsealed Office 205 in the Senate wing, which had been locked since her suspension in March.
The move comes ahead of the chamber’s October 7 resumption.
Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended following a dispute over the reassignment of her seat and was accused of breaching Senate Standing Orders.
She challenged the sanction in court, while Senate leaders insisted it was procedural and not personal.
In July, Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court faulted the length of the suspension, saying it denied her constituents representation.
The case is still pending before the Court of Appeal.
The reopening of her office followed a Senate leadership meeting on Monday, according to National Assembly sources.
