The Irigwe community in Kamaru Ward, Chawai Chiefdom of Kauru LGA, Kaduna State, has commended Governor Uba Sani for settling the medical bills of children injured in the recent Angwan Rimi attack, enabling their treatment to continue.

In an open letter dated September 22, community leaders revealed that treatment at Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital had been suspended over unpaid bills, leaving several children in critical condition. They said the governor’s swift intervention saved lives and restored hope to the grieving community.

The confirmation of full payment, conveyed by Kauru LGA Chairman Hon. Bashir Tanko Dawaki, was acknowledged in the letter signed by stakeholder Mr. Barnabas Musa and parents’ representative Comrade Raphael Joshua.

“Your swift response has brought renewed hope and comfort to our distressed community,” the letter read, praising Sani’s “compassionate and people-oriented” leadership.

The community also lauded Commissioner for Health Hajiya Umma Ahmad for her professionalism and Chairman Dawaki for carrying out the governor’s directive “with dedication and empathy.”

Gunmen had attacked Angwan Rimi on September 15, killing two people and injuring several children.

The victims were taken to Kaduna metropolis for treatment, which was later halted due to lack of funds until the governor’s intervention.

With treatment resumed, the community expressed renewed confidence in the state government and prayed for Governor Sani’s continued success in fostering peace, safety, and inclusive governance across Kaduna State.
