Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), from Yobe South have protested their exclusion from federal appointments under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Led by Sambo Kakawa, the group visited the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday to register their grievances, describing the development as a “complete exclusion” of their zone.

According to data from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Yobe South accounted for 43% of Yobe State’s 1,485,141 registered voters in 2023, delivering over 617,000 votes for the APC.

Despite this, the zone has not secured any federal appointment, while Yobe East and Yobe North have produced ministers, directors-general, executive secretaries, and board members.

Kakawa lamented the imbalance, stressing that Yobe South, the state’s most populous zone and a strong APC base, deserves fair representation.
