An Abuja Magistrates’ Court sitting in Wuse on Thursday ordered a 31-year-old tenant to vacate a property within one week.

Magistrate Farida Ibrahim gave the ruling after the defendant pleaded not guilty to a charge of criminal intimidation.

She directed that all fittings claimed to have been installed by the defendant must remain in the property, though he could file a separate suit to recover expenses.

The magistrate further ordered the defendant to sign an undertaking to maintain peace while removing his belongings and instructed the complainant to grant him access to do so.

He was granted bail in the sum of N1 million with one surety in like amount.

Earlier, prosecution counsel C.C. Okafor told the court that the complainant, Dr. Zaina Kasaba of Asokoro, reported the defendant to the police for criminal intimidation.

The court heard that the defendant allegedly used a machete and a knife to threaten Dr. Kasaba while she was seeing off her brother, and also threatened to kill her.
