Young Catholics from across Nigeria have been challenged to rise above mediocrity and pursue spiritual and personal excellence, as the Inspire Youth Network Nigeria (IYNN) successfully concluded its 2025 Youth Camping Meeting in Gbessa.

The four-day gathering, organized under the patronage of newly canonized Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, drew vibrant participation from youths eager to strengthen their faith while building bonds of friendship.

In his keynote address themed “Verso l’Alto: To Greater Heights”, the Network’s founder, Rev. Fr. Victor Ogunyemi, urged young people to embrace discipline, intentionality, and sacrifice as pathways to growth.

He linked the call to Revelation 4:1, where John was invited to “come up higher” to receive God’s revelation, stressing that youths must also step up in faith, evangelization, and study.

The program blended spirituality with recreation, including Masses, Rosary processions, sports, community service, bonfire nights, and the “Face of Frassati” contest, which was won by Miss Kenneth Precious.

Interactive sessions, led by Rev. Fr. Nelson Olagunju of Osogbo Diocese, deepened participants’ understanding of the sacraments as channels of grace and service.

At the closing Thanksgiving Mass, participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to grow in faith and prayed for Blessed Frassati’s intercession to help them live out the camp’s call to aim higher in all aspects of life.

The Inspire Youth Network Nigeria, a Catholic resource group, continues to embody its mission of “youth ministering to youth”, offering platforms where young people can encounter Christ, discover purpose, and inspire one another to holiness.
