A tragic motorcycle accident on Sunday morning claimed the life of an infant and left the mother injured in Zaudna village, near the Angus filling station along the Gwagwa-Dei-Dei Road in Abuja.
The woman was riding a motorcycle with her baby strapped to her back when she collided head-on with another motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.
The impact threw the child off, causing fatal head injuries. Passersby quickly rushed the victims to a nearby hospital in Gwagwa, where the baby was confirmed dead on arrival.
The mother is receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the crash.
Relatives of the woman arrived at the hospital visibly distraught over the loss. A police source from the Gwagwa Division of the Nigerian Police Force confirmed the incident.
