A trailer accident at Charly Boy Junction on Monday morning caused a massive traffic gridlock that left commuters stranded for hours across parts of Abuja.
The trailer overturned while navigating the busy intersection, blocking a major portion of the road and disrupting traffic flow from Dutse Expressway to Galadimawa.
The gridlock, which stretched for several kilometres, forced many motorists and passengers to endure long delays as traffic officers struggled to ease movement.
Witnesses described the situation as chaotic, with workers and schoolchildren stuck on the road for hours.
As of press time, emergency and traffic management officials were still working to clear the wreckage and restore order. Fortunately, no casualties had been confirmed.
Authorities have warned that easing the congestion may take time, given the high traffic volume at the intersection during peak hours.
