The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into the alleged murder of interior designer, Deborah Moses, popularly known as Deb’rah Porsche, who was killed late Wednesday night by her ex-boyfriend.
The suspect, identified as Lintex from Otukpo, Benue State, allegedly disguised as a dispatch rider to gain entry into Deborah’s estate.
When security personnel became suspicious, he reportedly scaled the fence and forced his way into her apartment, stabbing her multiple times.
Witnesses said the assailant first attempted to trigger an explosion by cutting her cooking gas pipe, but when that failed, he broke into her home and attacked her.
Relatives disclosed that Deborah had ended the relationship over a year ago but continued to receive threats from the suspect.
“He used to say things like, ‘If I don’t have you, nobody will. If I don’t marry you, blood will flow,’” a family member recounted.
Deborah, who had just completed her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), programme, was reportedly working to establish her career at the time of her death.
Her sister described her as “a young woman trying to find her footing before her life was cut short.”
Outraged family members, neighbours, and human rights activists have demanded justice and urged authorities not to allow the case to be covered up.
The suspect was overpowered by neighbours after the attack and handed over to the police. He is currently in custody as investigations continue.
