The Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy (FMACTCE), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with the National Sports Commission (NSC), to establish a world-class Arts, Cultural, Creative, Tourism, and Sports Innovation Hub at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

The agreement, sealed on Thursday, is designed to harness Nigeria’s creative, cultural, and sporting potential to empower young people, stimulate economic growth, and boost global visibility.

Minister Hannatu Musa Musawa described the initiative as “a new dawn” for the creative and sporting industries, stressing that it aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s agenda of job creation, economic diversification, and tackling insecurity through sports and culture.

“For young Nigerians, one of the President’s priorities is building a better future through sports and the creative industry.

“This partnership can empower the next generation, preserve our culture, and provide capacity building,” Musawa said.

NSC Chairman, Mallam Shehu Dikko, pledged full commitment to the project, noting that the Moshood Abiola Stadium would be transformed into a sports city.

“We must revamp our sports facilities. This project will showcase our history, culture, and sporting heritage,” he stated.

The proposed hub will host a National Museum of Arts and Culture, Entertainment Arena, Youth Creative and Entrepreneurship Centre, Eco-Villas, Family Park, Cultural Lounges, and a Sports Heritage Pavilion, among other facilities.

The project will operate under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP), with both agencies providing institutional backing and policy support.

Government officials said the initiative is expected to foster inter-agency collaboration, integrate sports with arts and tourism, and attract both local and international investors.
