An Abuja-based lawyer, Barrister Henry Okeke, has predicted that Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, will secure a second term in 2027 and could emerge as a strong contender for the presidency in 2031.

Okeke made the remarks during a post-event analysis on Freedom Square TV, following the 2025 Nigerian Bar Association Annual General Conference (NBA-AGC), held in Enugu.

He lauded Mbah’s leadership style, describing Enugu as “a showroom of governance,” and commended the seamless hosting of the NBA-AGC, which attracted thousands of lawyers nationwide.

According to him, the state remained secure, clean, and hospitable throughout the weeklong event, reflecting the governor’s reform-driven administration.

“Governor Peter Mbah has shown Nigerians that governance is not rocket science,” Okeke said, adding that his achievements in just two years make his re-election “non-negotiable.”

He further argued that Mbah’s policies have repositioned Enugu as a hub for conferences, investment, and tourism, while raising the benchmark for governance in Nigeria.
