The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command, has cautioned motorists against excessive speeding during the ’ember months’ to reduce avoidable road crashes.

The Sector Commander in charge of the Sagamu-Ore-Benin Expressway, Nasir Mohammed, gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Ota.

Mohammed described speed as “sweet but deadly,” warning that it kills faster than any disease if not properly controlled. He urged motorists to obey road signs and maintain average speed limits to safeguard lives.

“We urge motorists to obey road signs and adhere to average speed limits to prevent avoidable crashes during the ember months. We also strongly advise against night travel, reckless driving, and wrongful overtaking,” he said.
