Ruth, the younger sister of former Big Brother Naija winner Phyna, has died from injuries sustained in a collision involving a truck reportedly belonging to the Dangote Group.

News of Ruth’s death was first shared on Instagram by the Student Union Government (SUG), president of Auchi Polytechnic, who posted her photograph alongside a tribute.

The development comes days after Phyna publicly accused billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote and his conglomerate of negligence in handling the incident.

According to her, not only did the truck cause the fatal crash, but efforts were allegedly made to conceal evidence, including the removal of the vehicle’s plate number.

In an emotional statement, she warned that while Dangote may wield wealth and influence, “he is not God.”

The Dangote Group, in an earlier statement, expressed sympathy and pledged to support Ruth’s recovery, promising full medical care and compensation for both her and a commercial motorcyclist who was also critically injured.

Phyna, however, dismissed the company’s response as inadequate, noting the irony of wishing her sister a “speedy recovery” after she had already undergone a leg amputation.

She also raised concerns about the deteriorating condition of the injured motorcyclist.

Despite medical efforts, Ruth passed away over the weekend, leaving her family in mourning and sparking renewed debate on corporate accountability, road safety, and the human cost of negligence on Nigerian roads.
