Supporters of former Senator Kabiru Marafa have resigned en masse from the All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing the ruling party and President Bola Tinubu’s administration of injustice, marginalization, and neglect of Zamfara State.

The decision followed a two-day meeting of the Senator Kabiru Marafa Consultative Forum, held on August 27 and 28, 2025, in Kaduna, where members reviewed the worsening political, security, and developmental situation in the state.

In a communiqué signed by chairman Bashir Mafara, secretary Mannir Tsafe, and seven others, the forum with structures across 147 wards in Zamfara, formally announced its exit from the APC.

The group lamented the escalating insecurity, citing official data that Zamfara recorded the highest kidnappings nationwide in 2024, with 1,203 victims out of 4,722, ahead of Kaduna’s 629 cases. They recalled campaign promises made by President Tinubu to tackle insecurity but said the government had failed to act, leaving communities “devastated and hopeless.”

Describing their resignation as a protest against “injustice, mistrust, and marginalization,” the group said they would announce their next political direction soon, based on the collective interest of Zamfara people.
