The All Progressives Congress (APC), has clarified that the contest for its 2027 presidential ticket remains open, despite President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s endorsement by all party organs.
National Organising Secretary Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu made the statement on Wednesday in Abuja, briefing journalists on the recent 2025 legislative by-elections.
He emphasised that the process remains democratic, and any member wishing to contest will not be denied the opportunity to purchase nomination forms and exercise their franchise.
On the by-elections, Argungu announced that the APC won 13 out of 16 contested seats across 12 states, reflecting Nigerians’ trust in the party.
He listed key victories in Adamawa, Edo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Kogi, Niger, Ogun, Taraba, and Zamfara.
He added that the party will soon meet elected lawmakers in Abuja to foster unity, strengthen alignment with the APC’s vision, and meet citizens’ expectations.
Argungu also reaffirmed commitment to Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and assured Nigerians of continued efforts to deliver good governance, security, and prosperity.
