Former Ogun State Governor and Senator representing Ogun East, Gbenga Daniel, has dismissed speculations suggesting he plans to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), insisting that he remains a committed member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The clarification follows his recent suspension, alongside Mr. Kunle Folarin, by the Ogun State chapter of the APC over alleged anti-party activities, which had sparked rumours of a possible defection.
In a statement on Monday, the OGD Media Office described such reports as false, stressing Daniel’s continued loyalty to the ruling party.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Senator Gbenga Daniel is and remains a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, a Senator and remains on the platform of the APC,” the statement read.
Daniel’s reaffirmation is seen as an effort to quell speculations about political realignment ahead of future elections.
