The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), has demolished over 1,000 shanties and illegal structures obstructing a major road corridor in Karsana, near the Bunkoro District of Gwarimpa.

Director of Development Control, Muktar Galadima, who led the exercise on Monday, said the operation targeted squatters and “people of questionable character” but spared indigenous homes.

“The cleanup is along the proposed Ring Road 3 corridor at the intersection of N16 and RR3, where Map Global Estate is located.

“This is part of our citywide sanitation to enhance security, and we are continuing as planned,” he stated.

Galadima noted that the cleared stretch spans about two kilometers, adding that the operation would continue in collaboration with the Department of Resettlement to safeguard genuine indigenous properties.

Also speaking, the Director of the Command and Control Unit, Peter Olumuji, who represented the FCT Director of Security, Adamu Gwary, said the exercise demonstrated how development control supports security efforts.

He confirmed that no arrests were made.
