The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Thursday commissioned a major water supply project designed to serve residents of Karu, Orozo, Kurudu, and adjoining communities in Abuja.
Speaking at the event, Wike urged residents to support leaders who deliver concrete projects rather than those who engage in empty rhetoric.
He stressed that true leadership should be measured by its positive impact on people’s lives.
“Support those who have the capacity to bring something to the people, not those who only go on television to talk,” he said.
The minister described the project as part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that the administration has placed priority on expanding road infrastructure and improving access to potable water in satellite towns across the FCT.
Wike further pledged the construction of a two-kilometre road in Karu Site, assuring residents: “Consider it done.”
He commended Senator Philip Aduda for his role in advocating the project and praised the Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) for facilitating multiple road projects in the area.
