The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested four men suspected of peddling illicit drugs during a late-night raid in Uyo.
Command spokesperson, Timfon John, said in a statement on Sunday that the operation was conducted around 10 p.m. on August 18, following credible intelligence that led officers to several drug black spots in the city.
A large quantity of substances believed to be Indian hemp and other narcotics was recovered during the raid.
John added that investigations are ongoing to trace the source of the drugs, while the suspects remain in custody pending prosecution.
