Nigerian striker Victor Boniface’s much-anticipated transfer to AC Milan has collapsed after he failed to pass the club’s medical examination.
The deal, initially agreed at €5 million loan fee with a €24 million buy option, was scrapped when Milan’s medical team raised concerns about Boniface’s injury record.
Findings revealed lingering issues tied to his history of two anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) operations, coupled with recurring muscle injuries that have hindered his consistency in recent seasons.
As a result, Boniface has returned to his current club, Bayer Leverkusen, while AC Milan shifts its focus to alternative striking options, including Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund.
