Mrs. Hajara Alabelewe, wife of Alhaji Abdulgafar Alabelewe, Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council, has passed away.
She died in the early hours of Sunday, around 1 a.m., at a hospital in Kaduna, following a brief illness.
According to her husband, the cause was complications arising from malaria.
Until her death, Mrs. Alabelewe was a staff member of the Department of State Services (DSS), in Kaduna.
The family announced that Janaza (funeral) prayers will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Ansarul Islam Juma’at Mosque, Abakpa, by Lugard Roundabout, Kaduna.
Her passing has thrown the Kaduna media and wider community into mourning, with many expected to attend the prayers to honor her memory and support the bereaved family.
