Military delegations from across Africa have begun arriving in Abuja ahead of the maiden African Chiefs of Defence Staff (CDS) Summit, which opens on Monday, August 25.
The Congo Brazzaville team was the first to touch down, marking the start of what is billed as a landmark gathering of top military leaders from 35 African countries.
The three-day summit will provide a high-level platform for defence chiefs to deliberate on Africa’s pressing security challenges and explore ways to deepen military cooperation.
Discussions will focus on combating insurgency, terrorism, banditry, piracy, and other transnational threats undermining peace and stability on the continent.
Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, will host the event, which will also draw strategic partners and stakeholders working to strengthen Africa’s collective security framework
