President Bola Tinubu departed Yokohama, Japan, on Thursday night for Brazil, the second leg of his two-nation tour.
He is expected to begin his state visit on Sunday, August 24, after a stopover in Los Angeles, U.S.
Tinubu’s tour began on August 15 when he left Abuja, with a brief stop in Dubai before arriving in Japan for the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9). While there, he held bilateral meetings and engaged with the Nigerian community.
The visit to Brazil will focus on strengthening diplomatic and economic ties with Latin America’s largest economy.
Talks will cover trade, agriculture, energy transition, cultural exchange, and regional security.
During the visit, Tinubu will meet Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and also interact with Nigerians living in Brazil.
