The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has dismissed claims by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, that he was not invited to its recent National Executive Committee (NEC), meeting.
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, told reporters in Abuja that the party has documentary proof that Wike’s office duly received and acknowledged the invitation.
“We have records showing that every relevant stakeholder, including Minister Wike, was referenced.
“Evidence clearly indicates his office received and signed for the letter,” Ologunagba said.
Wike, in a recent television interview, denied knowledge of the NEC meeting where the party fixed its national convention for November 15-16 in Ibadan.
Ologunagba stressed that, beyond individual letters, the notice of meeting was also published in national dailies, providing “adequate and transparent notice” to all members.
He added that preparations for the convention are ongoing, with all due process strictly observed.
