The Lagos State caretaker committee of the Labour Party (LP), has reaffirmed the suspension of former state chairperson, Pastor Mrs. Dayo Ekong, declaring that she has no authority to speak for the party.

Caretaker chairman, Rotimi Odunaike, said Ekong’s suspension, imposed on May 12, 2025, for gross misconduct and anti-party activities remains in force.

He dismissed her recent criticism of the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, as unauthorized and misleading.

Odunaike accused Ekong of worsening LP’s internal crisis, alleging her failures led to the exclusion of party candidates in recent Lagos by-elections.

He warned that her continued impersonation of a party official is fraudulent and destructive.

He urged members to disregard Ekong’s comments and focus on rebuilding the party under its recognized leadership.
