Former APC National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, has described the late President Muhammadu Buhari as an “angel in human flesh,” praising his integrity and patriotism.
Akande, a longtime ally of Buhari, led a delegation on a condolence visit to the Buhari family in Kaduna, expressing deep grief over the loss.
“It is very, very painful,” he said, recalling their last meeting in Daura where Buhari appeared “robust and healthy.”
The former Osun State governor said the news of Buhari’s passing, which reached him while abroad, came as a shock.
He explained that he felt obliged to visit the family immediately upon his return to Nigeria to “commiserate and pray with them.”
Akande hailed Buhari as a leader whose legacy would endure beyond his lifetime.
“His spirit will continue to live forever because of the good work he did,” he said, adding that Buhari’s life of service would continue to inspire generations of Nigerians.
Responding, Buhari’s son, Yusuf, thanked Akande and his delegation, which included Senator Abu Ibrahim and former Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare for their solidarity.
He also expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for ensuring his father received a dignified burial, pledging that the family would uphold Buhari’s values of discipline and service.
