Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has urged Nigerians to see voter registration and Permanent Voter Card (PVC), collection as a sacred duty to secure the nation’s future.
Speaking in an exclusive chat, Obi described the PVC as “the most potent tool for birthing a new Nigeria,” stressing that it remains the voice of the voiceless and the weapon of the poor against injustice.
He cautioned against vote-selling, describing politicians who buy votes as “criminals in disguise,” bent on investing in corruption and bad governance.
According to him, citizens who trade their votes for money or material gains mortgage access to quality education, healthcare, jobs, and a better future.
“Your vote counts,” Obi declared. “If it didn’t, they wouldn’t be desperately buying it.”
The former Anambra governor appealed to Nigerians to elect leaders with competence, character, capacity, and compassion, insisting that a new Nigeria is possible if citizens take responsibility for driving change.
