Staff of the Kaduna State College of Nursing Sciences, including academic and non-academic workers, on Monday began a three-day warning strike, crippling activities across its campuses in Kaduna, Kafanchan, and Pambegua.
The unions leading the action accused the management of refusing to promote qualified staff for three consecutive years – 2023, 2024, and 2025.
In a statement, the union chairman, Dr. Daniel Danboyi, lamented that repeated appeals had been ignored, leaving staff welfare and career progression neglected.
“We have resolved to down tools for three days; Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday as a warning strike to press home our demand for the promotion of qualified staff whose cases have been pending for three years,” the statement read.
The strike has paralyzed academic and administrative activities, leaving students stranded and bringing the college to a complete halt.
