The First Rotech Group of Companies Ltd has unveiled plans for the Abuja Airport Garden City project, which is expected to provide homes for over 3,000 residents as part of efforts to address Nigeria’s housing deficit.
Chairman of the group, Austin Oguejiofor, disclosed this while briefing journalists on Saturday in Abuja, noting that the project goes beyond housing to stimulate economic activity within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
“We are not just building houses; we are creating a complete city with world-class infrastructure from roads to power and security; all designed to meet international standards,” Oguejiofor said.
He revealed that work had commenced on the access road linking the new city to the Abuja Industrial Park and the Abuja Airport Railway Station, ensuring seamless connectivity for residents and businesses.
According to him, the project has secured approval from the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) and will feature: 24-hour power supply and street lighting, high-speed internet and CCTV surveillance, modern drainage and sanitation systems, Continuous water supply and a hospital, pharmacies, fire, police stations and banks, schools, recreational centres, and landscaped green areas.
Oguejiofor emphasized that the development represents a major step toward bridging the nation’s housing gap while promoting sustainable urban living.
