The Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Bukola Olopade, has confirmed that all bonuses owed to the Super Falcons have been settled.
This follows concerns raised by team captain Rasheedat Ajibade that players were yet to receive payments and other benefits after winning the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Olopade clarified that the bonuses were cleared before the Falcons’ final match against Morocco, adding that only a few players may have experienced delays due to banking issues with the Central Bank of Nigeria.
He further assured that President Bola Tinubu’s pledge of $100,000 and three-bedroom apartments for each player would be honoured, noting that the NSC is working with the Ministry of Works and Housing to deliver the promised homes.
Olopade stressed that the Commission remains committed to the welfare and remuneration of Nigerian athletes.
