The All Progressives Congress (APC), says it is poised to win all 23 local government areas in the August 30 council elections in Rivers State.

At the party’s campaign flag-off at Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Rumuola, APC National Vice Chairman (South South), Chief Victor Giadom, represented by Senator Magnus Abe, declared the party “united, stronger, and ready” to deliver President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda at the grassroots.

He praised State Chairman Chief Tony Okocha for fostering unity and lauded the smooth primary that produced the party’s candidates.

“The APC in Rivers State is strong… Looking at this crowd, the election is a no contest,” he said.

Presenting flags to candidates, Okocha dismissed the last council polls under suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara as a “charade” the APC boycotted, but said the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission has now ensured credible processes.

“We are not just testing the waters on August 30, we will contest and win in all 23 LGAs and 319 wards,” Okocha declared, while commending FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for rallying support for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election.

He urged candidates to run peaceful campaigns, stressing that the APC is “not a violent party” but is now “taking the lead in Rivers politics.”
