Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, says President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda has transformed Nigeria’s health sector, making advanced cancer treatment accessible within the country.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, on Thursday in Enugu, Idris said his team came to assess and highlight progress under both federal and state governments.

He praised President Tinubu’s achievements, noting that his pace of development could be mistaken for that of a second-term leader.

The minister also commended Governor Mbah, describing Enugu as the “heart of the South-East” and acknowledging visible improvements since the previous administration.

Idris revealed that modern cancer treatment centres have been established in each of Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, including Enugu.

These facilities are equipped with advanced technology comparable to what is available abroad and staffed by trained specialists, ensuring Nigerians no longer need to travel overseas for care unless by choice.

“President Tinubu deserves credit for appointing capable people who have successfully revived the health sector,” Idris said, adding that the renewed focus on healthcare is part of a broader reform agenda.

He also noted improvements in security, attributing them to better coordination among security agencies under Tinubu’s administration.

While acknowledging remaining challenges, Idris assured that the government is committed to further progress in addressing national issues.
