The Labour Party (LP), has protested the continued absence of its candidate’s name from the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC), official list for the upcoming Federal Capital Territory (FCT), by-election.

FCT LP Chairman, Peter Ugwu, told journalists in Abuja that the party had met all requirements and submitted the necessary documents, yet the candidate’s name was still missing from INEC’s portal.

He said repeated attempts to get clarification from the commission had yielded no results.

Ugwu alleged the omission might be a deliberate attempt to sideline the party, urging INEC to immediately address the matter to ensure fairness.

“We have met all deadlines and provided all documents, yet our candidate’s name is missing. This is unacceptable,” he said.

INEC, however, assured that the final list of candidates would be updated before the polls and urged political parties to remain patient.
