Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, says no politician, including former President Goodluck Jonathan, stands a chance against Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Bwala declared: “There’s not a single politician who has the capacity to knock off President Bola Tinubu on all fronts.”
He cautioned against attempts to draw Jonathan back into electoral politics, warning that such a move could damage the former president’s global standing since leaving office in 2015.
“They were the ones that chased him away; what hope does he have that this time… they mean well for him?” he asked.
His comments come months after the All Progressives Congress (APC), endorsed Tinubu as its sole candidate for 2027, citing his economic reforms, including fuel subsidy removal and exchange rate unification—as bold steps to reposition Nigeria, despite public discontent over rising living costs.
Meanwhile, opposition heavyweights such as Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and former Senate President David Mark have formed a coalition under the Africa Democratic Congress to challenge the APC.
Political analysts say only a strong, united opposition could pose a threat, but Bwala insists such unity is unlikely.
