The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), and the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), are stepping up collaboration to fast-track the National Single Window (NSW), project, a flagship initiative of President Bola Tinubu aimed at revolutionizing Nigeria’s import and export processes and boosting revenue.

Senior officials from both agencies met at the Customs headquarters in Abuja to review progress, with discussions centering on critical system integration ahead of the planned first-quarter 2026 launch.

The NSW will serve as a centralized digital platform to streamline trade transactions, cut clearance times, and reduce costs for businesses.

FIRS Executive Chairman, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, assured full commitment to meeting the presidency’s deadline, while Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, described the project as a strategic policy for enhancing Nigeria’s trade competitiveness.

Once operational, the NSW is expected to deliver faster cargo clearance, eliminate excessive bureaucracy, and improve Nigeria’s standing in global trade.
