An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos has discharged Comfort Emmason, the passenger accused of unruly behavior and assault on an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos on August 10, 2025.
Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami struck out the five-count charge against her after the police prosecution team withdrew the case.
Emmason had been accused of misconduct and assaulting members of the flight crew.
However, the police withdrew the charges, citing “new developments” in the matter.
Ibom Air also agreed to withdraw its complaint against her.
Following the court’s decision, the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON), lifted the lifetime flight ban previously imposed on Emmason.
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, confirmed the withdrawal of the criminal complaint, stating that the decision followed consultations with key stakeholders in the aviation sector.
