The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SSVP), Holy Cross Gwarimpa Conference, has provided free medical care to over 500 people at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Gwarimpa, Abuja, as part of activities marking its 20th anniversary.
The outreach, held on August 12, 2025, offered comprehensive services including screenings for hepatitis A and B, typhoid, malaria, hypertension, hypotension, and eye examinations. Beneficiaries also received free medications.
One recipient, Mr. John, expressed gratitude for the treatment, saying it provided healthcare many could not ordinarily afford.
SSVP also announced plans for further community projects, including a water project in Kpai Kpai community, Gosa, Gui Ward, AMAC, where residents lack access to clean water, as well as a scholarship and empowerment programme for 20 Abuja indigenes.
As part of its anniversary celebrations, the society will honour benefactors and outstanding members, reaffirming its commitment to improving the welfare of disadvantaged communities.
