Security analysts, community leaders, and political groups have lauded Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Minister Nyesom Wike for sweeping reforms credited with improving safety across Abuja.
A key milestone is the near-completion of 12 divisional police stations and six-unit staff quarters across the six area councils.
Initiated in November 2024 and now 70% complete, the project has strengthened security presence while creating jobs for locals.
Wike is also advancing plans for a Central Command and Control Centre to integrate real-time intelligence from drones, CCTV networks, and other surveillance tools for proactive, technology-driven policing.
The Confederation of APC Support Groups, led by Prof. Kailani Muhammed, hailed Abuja under Wike as a “safe haven” where residents can “sleep with their two eyes closed,” praising his collaboration with the FCT Police Command in combating crime, insurgency, and other threats.
Stakeholders say the reforms are making Abuja safer, more investor-friendly, and boosting public confidence in the administration’s commitment to law and order.
