Former Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, has warned the All Progressives Congress (APC), governorship candidate for the November 8, 2025, Anambra election, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, against using his name or image in campaign materials without permission.

Ngige’s caution follows the circulation of posters online featuring his photograph alongside those of Ukachukwu and his running mate, Senator Uche Ekwunife.

He described the move as unauthorized and misleading.

In a statement on Tuesday, Ngige’s Special Assistant on Media Affairs, Hyggy Obialo, stressed that the former Anambra State governor is on a “sabbatical” from active partisan politics after 25 years in public service.

“Our attention has been drawn to an online poster in circulation featuring our principal, His Excellency, Senator Chris Nwabueze Ngige, together with the APC governorship candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, and his deputy, Senator Uche Ekwunife,” Obialo said.

He noted that Ngige neither granted consent nor endorsed any candidate and urged those behind the posters to desist from associating him with political campaigns.

Ngige served as Anambra State governor from 2003 to 2006, as senator from 2011 to 2015, and as Minister of Labour and Employment from 2015 to 2023.
