Federal Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has strongly condemned the public release of a video showing an Ibom Air passenger in a state of indecent exposure during an onboard altercation.

Describing the leak as “totally unacceptable,” Keyamo emphasized that while video evidence is crucial for prosecution, sharing such sensitive footage degrades a person’s dignity, especially a woman’s.

He has ordered that staff responsible for leaking the video be identified and disciplined.

Meanwhile, the Airlines Operators of Nigeria (AON), has imposed a lifetime “no-fly” ban on the passenger, Comfort Emmanson, following her violent conduct onboard.

AON described her actions as one of the most severe unruly passenger incidents this year, highlighting how her refusal to follow safety instructions escalated into physical assault on crew and security personnel.

The indefinite ban applies across all AON-member airlines, both domestic and international.

Keyamo also confirmed that the passenger has been arraigned in court and remanded at Kirikiri Prison.

In response to the incident, he has directed a joint security meeting involving aviation agencies and airlines to strengthen response protocols, and called for enhanced staff training in de-escalating volatile situations.
