The Imo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), where Nwachukwu serves as chairman, led the tributes on August 12, describing him as “a trailblazer and principled leader.”
In a statement from Owerri, PDP Publicity Secretary Lancelot Obiaku lauded Nwachukwu’s “wealth of experience and exemplary leadership,” noting that his guidance has kept the party on a steady course.
He described Nwachukwu as “a sound administrator” and “an accomplished legislator” whose integrity and commitment to justice remain unmatched.
As a former House of Representatives member for Obowo/Ehime/Ihitte-Uboma Federal Constituency, Nwachukwu was credited with raising legislative standards through impactful motions, bills, and oversight functions.
During his tenure, he launched several empowerment programmes, executed constituency projects, and secured hundreds of federal jobs for youths in agencies such as the Nigeria Customs Service, Immigration, Navy, Civil Defence, and NAFDAC.
Renowned for his humility, accessibility, and philanthropy, Nwachukwu enjoys widespread popularity across political and social divides.
