Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has emphasized that his primary concern is Nigeria’s future, not the pursuit of political power.
Speaking at a public event featured by Symfoni TV, Obi made clear that his ambition is not to become president at all costs but to foster genuine and lasting change in the country.
Obi revealed that many people have asked him why he attended numerous prestigious schools.
He explained that his motivation was to understand how those educated in such institutions think and why their countries function more effectively than Nigeria.
He sought to learn the secrets behind their success and apply those lessons to Nigeria’s development.
Sharing his personal experience, Obi noted that he currently lives in a society where things work as they should.
This exposure has intensified his determination to see Nigeria improve.
According to him, the goal is not about holding political office but about fixing the systemic issues plaguing the nation.
He stated, “I am desperate to see Nigeria change. I live in a changed place and I tell people that. I live in a place that works. I’ve been to schools. People have asked me questions: ‘Peter, why did you go to all these schools?’ I went because I wanted to know if those people who went there have different brains.”
Obi’s remarks reflect his commitment to transformative leadership focused on Nigeria’s progress rather than personal political gain.
