The newly appointed Assistant Coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), Ibadan, Akin Olowokere, has died.
Olowokere, recently unveiled as part of the Oluyole Warriors’ technical crew, collapsed during the team’s Monday morning training in Ibadan.
He was rushed to the hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival.
Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred mid-session, shocking players and staff present. The cause of death is yet to be officially disclosed.
A former Sunshine Stars of Akure player, Olowokere enjoyed a long spell with the club before transitioning into coaching.
He previously served as an assistant coach under head coach Edith Agoye and joined 3SC after the club parted ways with Gbenga Ogunbote’s crew.
