Nigeria’s men’s basketball team, the D’Tigers, has announced their final 12-man roster for the upcoming FIBA AfroBasket 2025 tournament in Angola. The squad was unveiled on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
The D’Tigers, led by interim coach Mohammed Abdulrahman, will compete in Group B alongside Tunisia, Madagascar, and Cameroon. Their campaign begins on August 13 against Madagascar, followed by matches against Tunisia on August 15 and Cameroon on August 17.
The 31st edition of AfroBasket will be co-hosted in Namibe (group stage) and Luanda (group stage and knockout phase), Angola. The tournament runs from August 13 to 31, 2025.
The D’Tigers aim to reclaim Nigeria’s status as a dominant force in African basketball, after a disappointing exit in the 2021 tournament. The Director General of the National Sports Commission urged the team to go all out for the championship .
