The 2025 Nationwide League One (NLO) U-19 Youth League kicks off with a thrilling Abuja derby on Thursday, August 8, as G Medix FC square off against Olympic Hybrid FC at the Hovel Prime Stadium, Nyanya. Kickoff is set for 4 PM.
Speaking ahead of the season opener, NLO’s Chief Operating Officer, Olushola Ogunnowo, assured fans of a competitive and well-organised league, underpinned by discipline and integrity.
He also issued a stern warning to clubs and officials against any form of misconduct, stating that actions capable of tarnishing the league’s image would not be condoned.
This curtain-raiser marks the beginning of grassroots football excitement, with matches scheduled across 16 venues nationwide.
The league aims to provide a platform for young talents to shine, develop, and potentially transition into professional football.
Football fans in Nyanya, especially around Mopol Junction, and the wider FCT are encouraged to show up and cheer on the future stars of Nigerian football.
With renewed focus on structure, development, and fair play, the 2025 NLO U-19 Youth League promises a season of rising talent and memorable moments.
