FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has sought National Assembly approval to access the Natural Resources Development Fund (NRDF), to complete key projects across Abuja.

During a meeting with the RMAFC Chairman, Wike said the FCT should benefit from the NRDF, which receives 1.68% of national revenue, like other states.

He explained that the fund would be used for agriculture, solid minerals, tourism, and infrastructure in line with the federal government’s diversification agenda.

“We’re not asking for anything outside the law. The FCT deserves its fair share to fast-track development,” he stated.

Wike noted the fund would help complete stalled projects, enhance service delivery, and boost the city’s economy.

He added that the move aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The proposal is now before the National Assembly for approval.
